When the bank feed is missing
Bank feeds break, only go back 90 days, or never existed for an old account. A QBO file built from the statement fills the gap with the exact transactions that appear on paper.
QBO and IIF
QBO files import through Upload transactions in QuickBooks Online or File > Utilities > Import > Web Connect in Desktop. IIF files include a split line using your categories, which is handy for clean-up projects.
Unique transaction IDs
Each row gets a stable FITID so re-importing the same file does not create duplicates in QuickBooks.
How to do it
- Upload the statement.
- Confirm the reconciliation check is green.
- Download QBO or IIF and import into QuickBooks.
